Climate Change Action
1.Supporting children’s participation through experiential learning
The climate crisis is affecting everyone, but the most vulnerable are children as they will bear the brunt of the impacts despite being the least responsible for it. We are committed to empowering girls and boys as agents of change through environmental conservation education and ensuring they are passionate about planting, nurturing and protecting trees. If children win, then nature wins!
2. Restoring natural environment through the growing of indigenous trees
NLC is keen on reversing environmental degradation through regeneration of indigenous tree species through tree species site merging. Due diligence is conducted before acquiring a seedling for any particular site to ensure 100 per cent adaptability and to increase survival rate of the seedling as they mature into trees. NLC is championing restoration through growing of indigenous trees as well fruit trees
3. Environmental Conservation Education
Saying yes to conservation is saying yes to continuity of life. NLC endeavors to commence the yes to environmental conservation journey at ECD level. NLC believes in inculcating a nurturing and protective culture of trees and the environment through dissemination of age-relevant practical knowledge on tree growing. Pupils, students at secondary and teacher training colleges level are trained as Tree Growing Champions and model schools rewarded.
