In the realm of environmental stewardship, every action, no matter how small, carries significant weight. As an organization committed to promoting a love for nature and sustainability, Nature Lover Consultant (NLC) is constantly seeking opportunities to foster a greener world. Our recent endeavor at Olare Owang Primary School in Narok Mara North Conservancy was a testament to this mission.
Led by the passionate Dr. Mary Manana, our team embarked on a journey to Olare Owang Primary School, eager to share our knowledge and enthusiasm for tree planting with the school's students and their supportive community. The warm welcome from the school headteacher, Irene Yiaile, set the stage for an educational and empowering experience.
Our dedicated Project Lead, Paul Mbogo, took center stage, delivering a valuable lesson on the importance of planting trees and conserving the environment. As the students gathered around, their curiosity and enthusiasm were palpable, reflecting a genuine eagerness to make a positive impact on their surroundings.
What made this initiative particularly special was the collaborative spirit that blossomed throughout the day. Not only did we work hand in hand with the students, but we were also joined by their parents, who had come to the school for a prayer day. The convergence of generations and a shared commitment to environmental conservation was a heartwarming sight to behold.
Our primary objective was to plant trees, and plant them we did – 650 trees, to be exact. These weren't just any trees, though; they were a mix of indigenous, site-specific tree seedlings, perfectly adapted to the unique eco-region of Narok Mara North Conservancy. We didn't stop there; we also introduced fruit trees to the schoolyard, ensuring that future generations would enjoy the sweet rewards of their environmental efforts.

The experience at Olare Owang Primary School reminded us that fostering a love for nature and conservation begins at a grassroots level. It's about engaging young minds, instilling a sense of responsibility, and collaborating with communities to make a difference. We, at NLC, are immensely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this transformative event and look forward to continuing our mission to cultivate a greener, more sustainable future.
